Recently, I lost my dog to cancer. It was sudden and a shock. As I grieve the passing of my fur baby, I am reminded that tomorrow is not promised and the importance of living life intentionally. However, this reminder does not diminish the feelings of sadness as I grapple with the loss of my fur baby. Grief has a way of sucking the oxygen out of you and demobilizing you. Grief forces you to take it minute by minute until you can take it hour by hour and then day by day. It reminds you of the importance of being present in acknowledging your pain, anguish and thoughts, in order to be able to intentionally move forward in adapting to the change that loss, such as the passing of a love one, brings.
Be kind to yourself today and take things one thing at a time.
